Tunji Adetayo Owoseni
Lecturer I, Kwara State University

A chartered mechanical engineer with specialty in Materials and Manufacturing. My research experiences include bioinspired design studies, solar-based water processing, failure mechanism study, residual stress analysis, surface engineering research—development of coatings, polymer based for environmental protection (chemical attack and corrosion) and ceramic based for applications in wear, thin-film batteries, high temperature applications in power plants and aviation engines.
I had my first BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan before proceeding to African University of Science and Technology (AUST. Abuja) on scholarship for MSc in Materials Science and Engineering. I also got the PTDF Scholarship to complete my PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. Career wise, I have worked Kwara State University, Malete since 2013. I am working with University West, Sweden as a researcher for the next two to three years. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated the highest levels of service and commitment to the mission of any organization I have worked for. I have initiated and completed high value engineering research; I have presented my research findings to gatherings of respected researchers and business leaders in Europe and the USA. I have published my research findings in reputable scientific journals.
My education and career path are making me cosmopolitan—an attribute I will love to be known for. I enjoy travelling and meeting people. I consider networking and collaboration essential bits of existence. When I am not doing my materials stuff, I spend time with younger researchers/professionals and prospective university students.
