Lawal Ogunfowora

Doctoral researcher, Purdue University

Lawal Ogunfowora is a PhD student in Chemistry at Purdue University. He works on discovering new reactivities of materials via high-throughput computations on supercomputing facilities and exploring the possible reactions as nodes in a network using Dijkstra’s algorithm or other similar algorithms in graph theory. Given the advancement of computing capacity, his research allows for the screening of material’s stability before experiments. One fun fact about him is that he is a big fan of philosophical novels such as Paulo Coelhos’ and Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s. And lastly, Lawal’s overarching career goal is to efficiently deploy ever-increasing computing capabilities in chemical science research.
